Connection Problems

Greetings.

I did not find a recent post about it but starting 2 days ago I began to have severe connection problems to the game server. I had players warping arround, short screen freezes followed by "reconnected to server" messages or even "connection lost".

It is not related to my internet connection since it also happens at different locations with other internet connections.

I am from Germany but since 2 days ago that was never a problem. These connection failure spikes usually occure for a period of several minutes minutes again and again. After that sometimes it is gone and sometimes it comes back after 30 minutes. The connection window does not give any usefull information and today my ping was stable at 150 but still connection problems.

I'm wondering if I am the only one who is affected by it. It really ruins game play especially since I'm a pilot...at least I try to be.

Connection to host lost / short lag spikes and little update stutters are more common since either patch or server upgrade/reloc/rebuild whatever it was was done - also ping from stable 135 over years up to between 170-180 now since patch

Are we talking about an upgrade that happened a few days ago? Because before that it worked great for me and I never had any problems.

If this really keeps going on like this I am really not sure if I should subscribe for another month, pity since I just started 3 weeks ago  .

Okay if there was an update over 4 weeks ago that did not effect me. My problems started just very recently.

Well my subscription still has some time left and I would love to stay if things will become better, but if not... well I'm just not 14 anymore and play games although they are really pissing me due to bugs and technical issues

Let's see what happens the next days.

I have been experiencing similar issues the last few weeks. Inconsistent but it seems to usually manifest during large city battles or town battles during the US TZ. Seems fairly logical given the volume that the server can see during those times but the thing that gave me pause was the fact that this didn't use to happen to me. Pretty solid 45-50 FPS regardless of the environment in game.

Lately I am getting more connection to host errors or general laggy/stuttery game play. EI appear to skate rather than run at times or they appear to move at speeds double the other ei in game. FPS will sit at 35-40 for a bit and then plummet to 5 or 10. The large drop in frame rates usually happens before or just as I encounter ei in close quarters. I can't really predict the position of the ei in these encounters because when the frame rates come back up the ei is usually several meters left or right of where he rendered the first time I saw him. Other times I will experience a dip in frame rates when I use the "aim down sights" function.

I am at the point currently where I lose connection to the host every single time I am in the game. It doesn't always happen right away. I can be in the game for like 15 or 20 minutes or so) but then i lose the connection. Sometimes it comes back and sometimes it doesn't. I am more than frustrated at this point. I have tried using "best connection" and "primary connection" and i have the same issue. Anyone know what else i could try?

Einzig,

Try this: http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php

Please note that is not our software, continue at your own risk (used by many of our customers and has solved several connection issues).

Report back and let us know how it goes, S!

I was having major freezes, "connection re-established", loss of chat ability etc. etc.

I thought it was my wireless adapter, then my ISP download/upload, - I tried everything and was at my wits end.

Then I uninstalled McAffee. The idiot software had been causing the problem. Been smooth sailing ever since. Worth a look at your virus checking software.

Xoom,

Thanks for the reply. I gave it a shot but it didn't seem to help. I was also getting the "t:0 error" as well that some other guys have seem to of had. So, i uninstalled and re-installed the game (full install) and unfortunately the first time i logged in after that i got the "t:0 error" again. Don't know that this has anything to do with my connection issues though. I will try to log on tomorrow night some more and see if there connection issues are still present. I am assuming that they will be.

You need to completely un-install your current version of WWII Online and install the latest. Patch manager is having issues atm, we're fixing it meanwhile.

I have been receiving the t error code on startup as well however it doesn't seem to effect me, i get netcode2 failed a lot in game but then it reverts to normal shortly thereafter. Also when reinstalling have you tried purging your registry of all ww2ol folders and keys? Xoom do you think you could provide the path for the ww2ol reg keys?

Eccles,

I will take a look at the mcaffee thing and see what happens. I was in the game tonight and lost connection at least six times with it reconnecting several times and got booted out of the game twice. The game was basically unplayable. I'm lost at this point. Could it be my internet connection (which is Verizon DSL)? Internet seems to be fine doing everything else (browsing, downloading videos, etc.)

@XOOM

The 4gig patch only set the crash flags to 4 gigs of memory usage...Fix for ctd when changing areas on the map due to the memory leak ingame.

Last patch supposedly addressed that by setting the crash flags in the patch to 4 gigs (or at least something higher than the 32 bit standard of 1.7 gigs).

As to the OP, 1st thing always is to reset your modem and router. Then if no joy then it's either your connection, CRS' connection or something between the 2.

Well, I'm starting to suspect that my connection problems revolve around my wife being on the Internet when I am in game. Maybe it puts too much of a strain on the DSL connection? I was game the last coule of nights with no issues. Then last night she was on the Internet on her phone I believe and I had some connection problems (but never got booted from the game). I'm assuming there is nothing I can do about this (better router might help?).

If your router has the ability to give your gaming PC top priority I would try that first
