Have you tried going head on? :)

On a serious note, I have had weird stuff happen to me on the ground but everything is fine in the air. Shot this ei while standing above him and instead of dying the traditional way, he disappeared. Still got the kill on him though.

Dedicated testing with notes taken directly after each test (try to establish some kind of control or baseline then test each case 1 variable at a time) will get the quickest response in terms of possible solutions. It just saves a buttload of time for whoever ends up fixing the issue.

so far h81 and h87 can kill ai towers and pits but no 232 or opels any player vehicles 0 damage

Watched a senario like this unfold with my binoculars on a opel where a H81 kept lighting up an opel just peppering it run after run with no effect. It was close enough to see the impacts on the truck. So I can validate from a ground perspective as a witness.

Wonder if everyone experiencing the issue is running Windows 10.. Heard someone say something along those lines on side chat.

Im running Mac using Yosemite. Not flying but have had similar issues in the ground game using infantry.

Im windows 7. it doesnt seem to happen every time i log on. But its a noticeable frequency increase. id say 25% of the time. Then a restart is tried. sometimes it fixes it sometimes it doesnt. Ive also gotten where it seems everyother other round is registering only. And the only instances im talking about are on non maneuvering dead to rights shots. yes conv taken into consideration. (though that means little on the centerline cannon rides, which ive experienced it with)

That being said. today seems to be fine so far.

Had it happen air and ground for quite awhile. For me it's been way to random to figure out any pattern or cause. I've seen it bombing tanks, direct hit my view leaving no scorch mark or the ground nor being hit by shrapnel by my bomb (low drop, you get damage from you bombs on a miss but on a hit tank absorbs all the damage and you can even tell by sound of the explosion if it's a hit or miss).

Atg I've seen my rounds go through ets and "fuse" / leave the APHE explosion on terrain past the tank. Note not 88/76/17#er vrs light armor but lighter atg vrs heavy armor so not talking about a 88 going through a panhard before fusing.

Shot ei point blank no damage, and in most of these cases no damages/hits shown in the AAR.

But again, for me, it's a rare and random WTF thing so I can't pin down any maybes with it.

TLDR at the bottom

Ok, so me and Hotrod did some testing tonight for about 2-3 hours. Here is what we tested (unsuccessfully).

1. First thing we did was have him clear his cache/cookies/temp files in order to rule out a corrupt download somewhere. Hotrod re-downloaded the patch and installed after a clean wipe/uninstall of his game. We tested it on the live server and nothing changed. He was still unable to register shots, even though he was clearly hitting me.

2. Second thing we tried was to compare my game files (CRS/Battle...) to his in order to further rule out a corrupt download. They were all exactly the same and we also went on to compare the file types and sizes of every file inside his directory compared to mine. They were all the same sizes/types of files as well. The rationale being that there might be even something very minuscule inside his file structure that would be causing this. But again, they were verified to be the exact same as mine.

3. Hotrod initially did not have a beta folder, whether it was deleted or not we don't know. So when he tried to connect to the beta tonight, it would give him the campaign screen of the live server instead (Since he had no beta folder). We then COPIED EVERYTHING inside his regular Battleground Europe folder and made a new beta folder (Battleground Europe - Beta) to connect to the Beta Server. We then placed those copied files into the new beta folder (The rationale being that the beta server AND the live server should be the exact same versions of each other and therefore, should give the same no shot registry result since both folders are now using the same files). Results were he was able to connect to the Beta Server and when we test fired against my 109, he was able to SUCCESSFULLY shoot me down.

Point number 3 goes on to kinda tell me that there is some kind of data missmatch between the live server and Hotrod. Before we even started this, he took up 109s and tested them as well (On the live server), and the same thing happened where the shots would not register. Spits/109s/Hawks/etc did the same thing on the live server.

The only thing we did not try was copying my own game files and replacing them with hotrod's on his machine, but even doing this, I doubt it would have made much of a difference due to point number 3.

I suppose we could have also attempted to do a clean wipe of everything in his registery related to Battleground Europe, however I do not know the directory in the registery that those are kept in. I don't think this would have made a difference anyway.

My question for the RATS is this. Is the beta server and the game server on the same server cluster as each other? Or are they independent units? My (uneducated) guess is that there something that the live campaign server does not like about hotrod's connection, that differs from the Beta server. At this point, (at least through our testing) it looks to be network related.

TLDR We copied the files from Hotrods regular game folder and placed them in a new beta folder. Connected to the beta where he was succsessfully able to shoot me down. Switch back to the live server and no shots registered. File types in both mine and his directories are exactly the same.

I tried to help hotrod as well, and short of doing a remote access session to check things myself things seemed ok. very weird.

If by beta folder you mean the battleground Europe folder with the cfml and wwiiol.xml and screenshots, the last few betas did not create a battleground Europe beta folder but instead use your existing live game battleground folder.

And the beta server does have differences from the live, not clones. Different permissions etc. But seeing he can score hits on the beta and not on the live would seem to point to something on the live server not syncing him properly....or something.

I do not think it's on his end though and best as I recall Mobile said he's tried other accounts with same result so not just his player ID being jumbled up serverwise.

Almost sounds like somehow the server is applying a "kills disabled" server lock only to him. No idea if that's even possible.
