No Mans Land AO still a soft cap

S! During pre campaign briefing CRS told us that a No Mans Land AO would be considered a hard AO. However I can confirm that this is not the case. Yesterday allies attacked Boxtel, which at the time did not have a flag in it, just a nearby axis airfield (No Mans Land AO as we are allowed to AO a town linked with Navy flags and Air flags). I then tried to AO Turnhout as a soft cap but the system would not allow me to AO it because system claimed Turnhout would be our 2nd soft cap.

Can we get some clarification?

How I understood it , it is still a soft cap, but allowed if it is linked to a occupied town while there is 1 AO. I believe the biggest reason for this change is to prevent a side from pulling from the front line preventing a town to be attacked.

From what i can see is that it would be a Softcap as Naval and Air flags cannot spawn at the linking town CP, only army units can do that, so if there had been an army unit in a linking town to Boxtel then it would be considered a NO Mans land AO = hard AO.

Now this is all in theory as XOOM said on TS regarding this and that he wasn't 100% sure how the server would react to this new AO rule.

No man's land AO definition

From the 1.34.12 readme...

This allows for AO's to be placed on empty enemy towns that are directly linked with any flag. Includes all branches and flag types. Available during all AO counts.

1 AO Available

- You can place a hard-cap

- You can place a no man's land ao

2 AO's available

- You can place 2 hard-caps

- You can place 1 hard cap, 1 soft cap

- You can place 1 hard cap, 1 no man's land ao

- You can place 1 no man's land ao, 1 soft cap

And continue that cycle as you have additional AO's available. Basically a no man's land AO is the equivalent of a Hard Cap, because you can have people spawning and fight (which was the whole purpose of the 1 AO hard cap only we original instituted, only now this allows for greater maneuvering and flexibility).

.

The OP tried this and was denied the soft cap AO (on turnhout) as the system was considering it a 2nd softcap

I brought this up the other day, when I was looking to change P1 AOs and keep the pb motivated and on while I switched. Needs fixed.
