and full rev on Pz's )

On a side note:

Interestingly enough, I just read an article about Germany's first experiences with the T-34 on the eastern front. It stated that during comparative testing they found that one of the few areas where the early EF panzers (like IIIF/H or pre-G IVs) held advantages over the Russian design was noise. Article spoke of "audio detection range" of 150 - 250 meters for the Panzers and around 400 meters for the T-34.

In any case: If those on-road figures are accurate, one reason to suspect that something is really off with coasting performance is the results for the Opel vs the 251. I'm neither an engineer nor a physicist, but even I know that when a halftrack and a light truck cover about the same distance when coasting, something is wrong. Especially since the Opel starts its coast at a higher speed than the 251.

I suspect the 251's greater weight and the lack of proper modeling of rolling resistance/mechanical drag have something to do with this. Or maybe we've all been wrong all this time and Toyota should be looking at fitting tank-treads to the Prius to minimize its rolling resistance? ;)

Wow I knew the Morris had a coasting advantage but I never realized it could go that far. Thanks for the info. I think it should be looked at - seems unrealistic to me to coast that far.

Auditing all the trucks is fine with me, I just hope crs get to it soon. Real soon.

The Morris bug is a much bigger thing now that it can set a FRU and we have Vehicle only placed FRUs. The allies are using them all the time now to setup frus when they can.

I tested the Morris out during intermission, on flat road I could literally coast it from one town to the next town (10 km). That is insane!

Please fix it crs.

BUMP - BUMP - BUMP !!!!

This is a serious bug - especially with the truck-only FRUs.

Does CRS have this bug on their ToDo list???

An official response would be appreciated.

I will not let this thread die :)

Thanks for the map. Once we have 1.35 out and the QA team can take a quick moment to breath we will run some trials on it and see what happens. I make no promises that something will be done as that is out of my hands, but I have generated a task to look at it after 1.35 release.

Thanks - I have no doubt you will see the issue when you take a look at it.

Cheers S!

I just did the test offline and can confirm sydspains report. But I wouldn't call it a bug.

Edit: Ok, I actually had much better results with the morris than sydspain had. Off road I coasted about 3km with the morris, and on the road I almost doubled the distance sydspain was able to achieve. I easily completed one circle, and kept going a few kilometres. I had it going for approximately 13km on the road. I probably could have done 14km if I hadn't screwed up in the beginning. I coasted around 22 minutes. For those who don't believe me, I made a video. I screwed up the maths in the video, but double checked and it was about 13km.

My opinion: Once the black-out issue with the beddy is resolved, the rats could look into the morris and nerf it a bit. But while the black-out bug is still around, don't touch the morris. The beddy is the core vehicle of the allied forces when the Americans enter the war and it is just the worst vehicle out there, by far. The allied forces need a working vehicle, in all tiers.

No truck, Axis or Allied should coast like these do, especially the Morris. That's FACKED.

Sneaking in frus by killing the engine is done all the time, and is an obvious issue, both sides.

The Morris more so.

I hope this gets fixed.

BTT: While defending the Waterloo-Brux FB, we had EI suddenly showing up with trucks... because they were killing their engine in the Morris and gliding silently to the TENTS.

Two guys sitting there actively watching for EI, and nobody hears the truck at all? They must have killed the engine before truck audio could be heard and then gliding some 3km in the continue sapping the FB.

That's some BS

No, but the vehicle spawn was down, the infantry was at 97%... so we were standing on gun emplacements we had built and looking mostly W, NW, N and NE, E. My partner in crime googs went to the veh spawn to have a look and said, "Hey! There's a truck here behind the tent and an ei trying to sap the veh spawn."

Go the the Waterloo-Brussels FB, look W to the road. There are a lot of bushes running along the RR tracks and all anyone has to do is kill engine 2.4K out, roll in through them and park it.

I say we leave the morris as it is for compensation for the Tiger turret rotation speed. The morris has very few good qualities as it is including its white top.

It took 15yrs to fix the beddy...count on 15 more to fix the Morris...which isn't as big a deal as the Bedford was.

Yeah, I'd hate to black out driving the Bedford.

I don't know what it takes to adjust this, but I suspect it has something to do with coding for a truck's friction coefficient or gravity's effect on it.

People who was strongly in favor of only truck frus because inf could set invisible frus now are against fixing morris which can set invisible frus...

CRS this bug was report before summer started.

What is status of this issue? I know you are busy but it takes 10 minutes to test drive the Morris a couple times and confirm this bug.

Can you guys at least confirm the bug exists, and promise it will be given attention soon?

The allies are not stupid. I hunt efrus all the time. When the axis are facing British flags the Allies are always driving in a heavy towers now (Morris) instead of a Bedfords because they know they can coast the Morris in silently MUCH further then the Bedford. And thse are Morris trucks that are NOT towing guns.

This is a MAJOR advantage with Truck-only placed FRUS.

Sound is a huge part of this game.

You are working on new patches, but you are still not addressing issues still outstanding that are related to your previous patches -- (truck-only placed frus patch).

Please fix it now. I will not let this issue pass away silently. I promise.

Thank you.

PS - Gridiron the game is undergoing development now. It will not be 15 years for the fix. Sorry mate :)
