Campaign has been started back up. We're digging into the authentication server and cleaning that all up, sorry for the frustrations guys. We got some great stuff from this, mostly knowing that we have a really great build that appears to be ready.

The only real hang up was that damn auth server, which is now P1.

W00t!

Personally I didn't have any issues with the install/patch, logging in or CTDs. Ignoring the issues with the authentification-server, the client itself felt very stable to me.

One thing though: Is it just me or were the trees set to shorter rendering-distance for the "full detail"-model? I might just be imagining things, but I felt that I had to get closer to trees to get the most detailed visual model ...

At least it let you discover an issue :) Too bad I did not get to test this time around.

I think they still have to do some adjusting to speedtree. The .14 version they just turned it back on. But yes it seemed to me the LOD shifts are quicker in 1.35.

If you run into that error, just install on top of the old directory. This isn't something we can fix right now unfortunately, but we'll try to make sure that future installers don't have this problem.

Are you sure you used the full installer? We've had a few reports of some people using the wrong patch that would cause that kind of behavior, but if you've used the full installer it should work just fine regardless of what was on your system before.

I did use the full installer via the link you gave above. After finishing the install and checking the settings i went to the start menu and chose Cornered Rat Software in Programs then clicked on Battleground Europe-Beta 1.35 then Offline and i got the message:

C:\Program Files\CRS\Battleground Europe - 1.35 Beta\WW2.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

I then clicked on the Play Online link and I got the message:

C:\Program Files\CRS\Battleground Europe - 1.35 Beta\Playgate.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

Does the fact i'm using Windows XP Pro for system have anything to do with this?

I am able to access the current version of the game live and join and play Battleground Europe current campaign without any problems. In fact since i've got my internet running at 40mbps at the modem it's running better then ever.

Might be time to upgrade your system as XP is a really old OS.

I'm currently logged into the beta game V. 0.14 and there is no AO placed and apparently nobody on.

Aren't AOs placed automatically by the system if no hc is on?

I figure, after reading the post in this thread, i would not have been able to get in the beta server even with a newer OS.

Are you running XP Pro on the Authentication Server?

That would be one of the bugs in the beta. That among others is why it's still a beta and not yet live.

Yes, but AOs have been in there before, thats nothing new!

I just wanted to test the beta, logged in now again after some hours and still no fight, no AO, no ews, not a single mission..not even another player on!

I tried the beta server again and now the system placed some AO.

Just nobody on there.

First impression: Seems to be a bit smoother all, but can't really say without a bigger fight going on...

A little problem:

Tried setting up keys for flying. The keymapper didn't recognise my slider (throttle) on the joystick. All other axis and buttons worked as before.

The older versions of WWIIOL before did recognise the throttle slider on the joystick in the keymapper and it is configured and works with other flightsims so far.

Any hints?

The beta reads the same cflm/keymaper files that your 1.34 install uses so they should work the same as to controllers.
