Prone Bug STILL HERE

Can't tell you how many times I've died because I can't stand up when prone.

I have to wait 10 seconds while switching weapons before it will finally let me stand up.

Usually, I'm ded by then.

This has been a continuing bug for YEARS. I just finished a new build and really hoped that would fix the problem. But alas... it's still here.

Getting REALLY old now.

It works better if you open and close the map, not changing the weapon. At least it works for me. Try it out.

I just reproduced this bug in offline mode, multiple times.

1. Spawned in as a G43 and exited the barracks.
2. Started pressing and releasing the prone button ("F" in my case"), at a fairly fast pace. Prone-standing-prone-etc.

Result:
Locked in prone or standing stance after around 3-5 changes in stance. Both prone and crouch button "knocked out". Opening and closing the map removed the "lock".

The same type of lock can be achieved by using the crouch button (Ctrl in my case). You are then locked in crouch stance.

You can also use a combination of prone and crouch button presses; prone-crouch-prone-etc to reproduce the bug.

Bonus round: If you press any of the buttons fast enough, no stance change will occur at all and a stance lock is achieved.

Happens when crouching and hitting the button to many times in a row. We have it ticketed and it will be looked at when the development resources are available.

I still cannot shoot enemy from the prone position with my LMG when it is deployed. I can shoot it if it is not pointed at them though. I have had only one response from crs about this, have reported it many times. The guy that did take the time to help asked me to replicate it buit for some reason it let me kill him. (think I may have been on a berm, at that point it works just not when I am on level ground).

Also I get the same problem with my 2nd account (local25) got so upset with the lack luster response I got that I unsubbed him.  I hope I don't have to do the same with other accounts...please help this LONG time player to enjoy the game instead of being cannon fodder.

Thanks.

From the testing video I saw of them working with you, you were on level ground and able to kill them just fine...

We've not saw any other reports similar to this, are you sure it's not your mouse? Have you changed out your mouse to see if that fixes it?

When you had your second account active, didn't you get on the training server and test it out between your primary and secondary accounts? What were the results?

When an inf is running and you're not actually aiming at them, because you're aiming in front of them for lead, did it work then?

You were on level ground.  Without a way to replicate a bug there is no way to even start to fix it.

It happened to me a cpl nights ago in a city and again tonight while in  I forget the town...

Both times, it was after I had sprinted to a tree or too close to a lamp post and everyone knows that if you hit "v" while sprinting, you'll go prone as soon as you stop running so you can get stam back.

Well, both times I had ended a sprint right at a tree or a lamp post, and both times I got the "Action Not Allowed" head shake thing... I wasn't able to get up until I moved really far away from the tree or lamp post. Like, ten feet away on my belly.

Then I could stand.

Scab,

This topic is for a bug unrelated to your report. You need to make a new thread for your issue. Hijacking other bug forums will not be tolerated in this area.

We want to work with you to replicate it, start a new thread and maybe others will be able to chime in to help identify the problem. We tested with you and couldnt replicate.

Hummm, that could be useful info. Quoting this so as to find it again.

Now as to the OP "prone bug".

Under the old team in one of the patches a "lock to position for xx" was added (not what it was called but descriptive).

A lot of players would hit v and f while running "porpoise effect". Looks awful and made them almost impossible to hit

so a position lock was added while running and also x number of v key mashes would lock you to a position for a bit.

The above is from memory, wish I had all the old readmes........
