Increased lag and 'unkillable' bug since ISP switch

The last few weeks, noticeably since the CRS ISP switchover,  lag has gone back to 2015/16 levels before the patches.  Especially noticeable with two accounts logged in, when trucking or getting the 'unkillable' notice when capping.  Slightly better with Netcode disabled but still worse than a month ago.

Connection Info:

1. Bell DSL Fibe HiSpeed, Canada

2. TIM SmartFiber, Italy

It usually gets like this when everyone is confined to such a small area at the end of a Campaign.

I as well noticed more lag and warping after the ISP switch last week. Tried with netcode 3 on and off but results are similar.

Disable (or Enable) Netcode 3:

1. log into game as usual

2. at PERSONA Select Screen click 'Preferences' Tab upper right

3. Preferences Screen left side click 'Connection' (2nd button down in list below 'Game')

3A. Right side of Pref Screen then changes to give three options > Network Route / Visible Player Limit / Use Netcode 3
3B. To right of 'Use Netcode 3' are two toggle boxes 'enabled'  and 'disabled'.  Default will have a green check mark in the box.
3C.  Click the one you want.

4.  Bottom left click 'Save Changes

5. Bottom right click 'Back'

I've been seeing it too, not a lot, but definitely happens, often in CPs.

Tonight I remembered to take screenshots.

It's a bit dark, but there's a UK rifleman right in front of me,  I've shot him numerous times, with pistol and rifle. You can see the capture-meter is going up at the bottom-right. The whole time the unkillible EI is moving around, checking his map etc. You can also see that i have good FPS and ping.

What's even weirder is that 2 more EI entered the CP, and i was able to kill them both. But the whole time the capture-counter is going up. It's kinda hard to see but there's a dead EI at my 11, and another one at my 1 o'clock, both up against the wall. They'd run up the stairs, act like they couldn't see me, and then I'd kill them. The whole time the unkillable EI is doing his thing, and capturing the CP.

Here's the mission results. The wounded rifleman is the unkillable one. The Garand i killed earlier (in this CP), and the Sten and Bren I killed while watching the unkillable EI.

I see you connection line with lots of breaks in it that means packets lost. At least on this resolution.

That's a good point, but i missed it 'cos it's way better than my connection used to be. I recently upgraded my computer and not only are my FPSs way better, but so is my connection speed and quality. So it didn't occur to me that the problem might be on my end. But it does speak to a larger problem, that I'm not only the only one with less-than-perfect connection (I can't bring myself to call it 'bad' given that it's so much better than it used to be). And any flood of new players we get from Steam is going to have it's fair share of others with less-than-perfect connections, so this is something CRS needs to keep working on (and I'm sure they are).

But in future, if I see something like this, I'll .report it and then despawn.

For the record, what does a 'good' connection look like? Any one got a screen shot of the ticker-tape?

So long as the dots are steady with no gaps you should be ok.

Whether it's a dotted line or solid line depends on what you set antialiasing at in your vid card settings. Low or no AA=dots, high AA=solid line.
