Lag is horrendous?

Multiple times today I've shot ei only to have them live at least 5 to 10 seconds later.

Just now, shot ei walking towards me 20 times, 2 full clips of semi rifle.  Then he points and shoots me dead.

Earlier shot 2 FG42 clips into ei in CP - he didn't go down for at least 10 seconds - others in CP with me saw it and were firing at him.

Now, I can understand 1 second lag, but something is really wrong here and needs to be looked at.

This is not going to work at all if lag remains like this.

Lag has slighty increased for me for the last month. Maybe more players playing... dont know, but the fact is this.

I usually play with 130-145 ms ping, nowadays its imposible to know ping while playing, but i think it is worse than 3 months before.

I think the P1 for CRS is above all to improve the netcode and try to reduce lag from non-Texas ppl laggin the server around. (like me and the rest of EURO guys etc)

My ping is about 230ms.  I play from Australia.

This has been discussed innumerable times over the past 17 years or so.

To help your processor cope, you might want to do the usual things such as allowing BE through you firewall and stop as many background programs running as is safe.

Updating drivers is also advised though sometimes an update can cause it's own issue and may need to be rolled back. Graphics and sound cards are specifically to be looked at here.

You can also change the game resolution and use the game filters in settings to get better fps.

Just search the forums for 'how to' if you don't understand how to make any changes.

This is different, been playing for what, 8 years?  Never seen lag like this, ever.

Sure, there is the now and then 1 to 3 second lag.  But this is a solid 10 seconds or so.

And it isn't rare, happened twice in one day  (trying to recall if more times).

Maybe my connection, but no, on both occasions today, others near me saw the same thing and were saying player won't die.

So, not just me.  It is not my setup.

 

I don't mean to say all deaths are like this (too much lag) - most the time players die like they should.  But this is a new occurrence of excessive lag.

Heh, i shot mobius, 12 rounds in the chest with mp34, he shoots me, I died,  and then runs about 100m to check the other CP
then he dies a very belated death which i am sure surprised the hell out of him.
And the next time i shot him, he died so fast you'd think he was anticipating it.

Internets is weird like that.

 

That was with netcode3 off by the way
was testing if having it off helped with the telewarping units.
It didnt

When you run into these issues, please use .report so the GMs can investigate. Even if you don't believe hacking is involved. Most times its just bad lag as you said. If its persistent enough, the GMs would pass it up to QA and the Devs to investigate more.

Just a bit ago, killed a guy in CP, then fully 30 to 60 seconds later I suddenly died to same guy.

Checked stats, he only had one mission with me in it, (thought maybe he respawn and came back to kill me).

So, I died like a minute after we engaged each other.

A lot of times we do not know until after death, or are in no position to type until so.
Does the .report still capture anything useful at that point?

as long as your put more than .report merlin51 is hacking    into the message yes it does.....

Since they added the new cell hosts lag and warping have increased. It's something to do with the communication between the cell hosts that's the issue, just like the issue with passing hits across.
