I have to say that, although I am an axis player, the pak36 has become an awesome weapon since the new sights were introduced. The gun can now fire about the same distances as the pak40 and is lethal to shermans frontally at 500m (my one experience of killing one hitting front). So, despite my dislike of the db7 flying like a fighter and withstanding massive damage, even from dropping bombs at tree top height, I have to come clean about the pak36. There is something wrong with it! It's toooooooo powerful!

I was pointed to an old ticket with some 37mm anomalies.. I moved it up to be investigated during the HE audit testing.

There is something going on with the PAK36.

I have not experienced what dandare describe, i don’t fire at Sherms at those ranges and angels, "cuse I know it doesn’t work".

I have experienced quite the opposite though, firing on Vickys with no result, at close but not point blank range.

This might be a real bug, like those Sherms i brewed with the 2cm HE (reported here), both from Pz II and Flak, and nothing to do with planed changes.

It always could fire the same distance. It was just that the ridiculously high magnification of the optics made it seem like a mortar.

As for killing shermans from the front, I've heard of reports from both axis and allied players. That shouldn't be happening at all, it needs to be looked at.
