Have you noticed how Spit 5 turns?

Its the best plane in game, and the P38 isnt supposed to out turn every axis plane cuz its made for intercepting bombers just like G6.

It is a well known fact that the p38 could not compete with the single engine 109 in arieal combat.

Google it if you dont believe me.

pretty sure @XOOM flies axis and @HATCH flies anything with wings
And i dont think any plane FM audits besides fixing the 109 have been released in the remotely recent.
So no changes made for good or bad yet.

I am sorry I have to defend the Allies here, but did you play other simulators? Spit I-V are excellent turn fighters for their time (which means they can turn very well for the speed, climb rate and armament they got). You should not try to outturn a spit in a german fighter unless you identified it as a spit IX and you are riding in a lower tier 109. The spit V is very slow compared to the 109f, even slower than the spit IIb and it doesn't climb as well. Use that to your advantage, combine it with your roll rate and all the spit pilot can do is reacting to your attacks from above. When you are flying in tier 3 you might get confused though, because the spit IX is reasonably fast and climbs better than anything else in this game while being not as good at turning - in harsh contrast to the spit V which ist the exact opposite.

That said, the damage modell of the spit is just broken. It reacts allmost like an IL-2 upon being shot at: kill the pilot or he will just laugh at your shots bouncing off. That's really weird of course.

You are absolutely right on the P-38. It's just rediculously maneuverable in this game. It looses no speed whatsoever in boom and zoom maneuvers, can dive at mach1 and by good use of the flaps it also can turn on a dime.  Flewn by a skilled pilot this thing is just a beast. Which it should not be to this degree. Did I mention it also just laughs at your cannon rounds hitting all over the plane? Add the bugged .50cals, which to some weird reason are the deadliest weapons (who likes cannon rounds in the first place?) in the air in this game, and you got the best airplane known to the skies of world war 2...online, which in fact was so bad, they withdrew it from europe as soon as possible. Must have been due to it's achilles heel, it's big horizontal stabilizer in between the two tails. It just falls off if you hit it with cannons. And boy, that's a relief.
