Lack of sound

I was in a building and this guy kills me. Never heard a thing. I hear other sounds. This has gone on for a long time.

He didn't craw, he walked to the floor I was on. Not a single sound. This is not right. Something needs to be done.

Sound cuts out when you die as infantry I believe. I think that your computer is receiving the information that you died faster than it receives the information that a shot was made toward you.

It has happened to me many times in the past, but not since the Auto-Despawn mechanism was put into place.

I wonder if the fix is simply to not eliminate sound when you die as infantry, since it doesn't happen for vehicles (it does for certain crew members, but I'm pretty sure the spinning death camera plays sound, and it doesn't for infantry).

As far as moving noise is concerned, footsteps can be faint, especially when crouching. Don't need to crawl to move very quietly.

Also remember that you can use the T key to toggle between walk and jog. When walking the other players don't hear your footsteps.

Its got nothing to do with death. It can happen at anytime. No sound of truck or tank or plane or …….

The death thing was one example. Many times when taking out a eFB and I am facing away from the charges, suddenly no explosion sound.

What is your audio setup on your PC?

Could it by any chance be set to like quad or higher speakers, but you have nothing plugged into the rear speaker output?

I know if i leave mine set to 5.1 and plug in my headphones (which plug into the front channel speaker output as i have no front audio panel) and dont have the surround on, I wont hear things behind me very well, and i have to go set my sound from 5.1 back to stereo

Merlin,

This is not me alone. Many in my squad has same issue. There is something wrong with the sound, period. Not my computer, not their computer. It is game that has the issue. I bet if you ask the player base you will find others too.

  • 3 weeks later...

these audio bugs most often occur when the player has two accounts logged in on the same connection
This is what I have observed.
If you have a truck carrying an atg it seems the sounds are not all processed

I guess
I'm not sure.

I too have the occasional no audio bug. I use Dolby atmos headphones which are awesome, but way overkill in this game. When the sound engine is working ok I can pinpoint approaching inf/tanks/trucks precisely. When its not (usually in a higher pop area) it seems to revert to a lower definition soundscape. Is it reducing CPU cycles?
