We have been able to replicate it and have handed the info on to Development team and Production team to see the best way to deal with it.

Wohoo! Well done!

What did you find out about the problem? I always thought is was something with my rig.  Glad it was found to be a game feature that will, hopefully, be fixed.

I don’t know the specifics of what is going on mechanically but it has something to do with the movement of the sun and the changing of colors in the lighting engine.

The actual bug that was before the eerie green after going afk awhile at certain times will have to be tracked down by a actual Dev.

I've initially tested a reversion of just that part of the lighting that should go back to the green look rather than the acid trip deal I accidentally put there.

But it did ID a direction to look for the actual bug :).

Gonna use this thread again. After the newest hotfix patch, smoke changed color to black, when there is less sun/ the sun is rising. Confirmed that others see the smoke as black/dark grey too.

I get that the smoke would be darker when its night, but as you can see below, there was enough light for the smoke not to be as black?

Yea the lighting engine is a bit wonky, will need a bit more looking at and adjusting.

Yes that black smoke after the patch today is annoying.  Its very hard to see anything inside it.

Smoke-grenade smoke was not black.  It looks like smoke from burning oil or something.

The black smoke is my fault, sorry guys.

I had no idea that the fixes that I made to the lighting would change the smoke colour to black at certain times of day, I'll try to find time to look into it over the weekend.

No worries at all. Excellent that you guys are already on it!
