Stupid question. But can the builder bridge be destroyed?

It would appear based on Stankyus's observation and texts that it does not. I'd have to look into that deeper but I'd believe it not to be. We'd have to see if it has a secondary damage state, which most if not all terrain objects when being developed receive. This is a very special / unique case though. We'll look into it and report back in.

I can answer that

No, it can not in the current game terrain be broken.
At some point in the past, it appears someone decided terrain wise to purposely break it so that the physical object was no longer connected to strat.
Personally i believe they did this because the bridge was a gift to players who helped the game out a long time ago, and they probably felt like it was maybe a slap
in the face to have your gift be destroyed.

I would like to think that if we could ask those people now, they would say "Hell yea man BLOW IT UP!"

The bridge model does have a damaged state, and it also is assigned damage values identical to all other bridges.
I can make it go boom :)

Nifty historical trivia thing
The markers for the original bridges there during beta are still in game. Jwilly and Oldzeke remember them.
You see them as dinant road bridge and dinant rail bridge, but you see no bridges
And you see no Dinant Builder's Bridge

Why not instead of have it completely destroyed , make it so that huge chunks of road are missing so Tanks can't cross but INF can still cross , that way the memorial pillars are intact but it's none passable for Vehicles.

I actually stopped on the Bridge to read, and found my former Squad on it *Sturmgrenadier* I know there is a separate memorial for the founder of SG that passed away to cancer , a long time ago now but I don't know where that memorial is.

We did a fundraiser back then to get it build.

I like this idea, requires artist/modeler work so would have to take a number and wait a turn though. But I would hold to it's uniqueness :)
