This tank one shot DD with APHE at long range... (1-2km).

Sure DD have no reason to get so close..but still. i am not sure it should be this way

i mean when you shoot in the middle near water line, to be more precise..i think fuel tank is here, (not sure) but anyway thoses shells seems to penetrate a lot given there low velocity and explosive charge... it s a DD weighting several times more than a tank, and it s not a naval or AT gun.

If I remember correctly the hull armour of the Destroyer is only 80mm, so a lot of things can penetrate that. There is a picture kicking around that shows the internal damage model.

The destroyers have no armor.

10-15 mm mild steel.

Easy to take out a DD in game with a Tiger or 88 at 3-4 km.

DD's should not be anywhere near the shore .. if they die to an atg or tank they deserve it .

Flak 28 / Bofors should be able to kill them also.

Too many DD's camping towns in a very unrealistic way .

This.
Destroyers are light NON armored ships
They are not designed to directly engage with things on land firing some form of AP.
That is why they have long range 5 inch guns

Er also, Churchill CS tank does not have any APHE, or any AP at all
It only shoots HE rounds, which should not be/are not of sufficient size to injure the DD, except perhaps hurt a gun crew, most likely the AA guns
I was not able to hurt or sink the DD when i tested, could not even get the 3 or 3.5 inch inch through the deck

At 2000m i was not able to hurt anything but gun crew with the 6pdr if it was a non cs churchill
that is also not APHE though, just solid AP

Here's the damage model. The hull-internal colored volumes are magazines, engines, boilers, and "fuel tank".
