Ok, sitting in patrol boat, can see 500m every which way....

ei appears out of no where, 120m away running down road...

I should have seen much earlier.

Interesting.

Does anyone else have an issue with paras rendering, I wonder if it is related. I see them in the EDGE of my FOV as inf, and when I look right at them they disappear, and when I do see them they are very choppy in the way they move (else I'd kill far more of them under their chutes).

Infantry render distance is 700m

When you say patrol boat are you talking FMB?

Yes.

Exactly how come I wrote this - I shot the ei at 120m - appeared out of no where.

I could see 500m every direction.  Should have seen him at 500, 400, 300 etc.

*** I see them in the EDGE of my FOV as inf

This happens when they are like 710 m out or so -- can't see directly - but side FOV can see a few more meters I think.

I see the same thing now and then.

***  they are very choppy in the way they move

Usually choppy dropping means they have died in the air- again see same thing.

Smooth until they get shot - then fall choppy.

Render is calculated dead ahead. The render is not a arc so where inf render @700m dead ahead they will render farther at the sides of the screen (as will all vehicles/units).

As any good DD captain knew back in the day.

The only time I have had this happen to me is when there has been a small incline in the terrain but looks flat.

I have always had infantry pop in at 700m distance.

Will this be increased at some time ? Often one sees a EFMS as a Tank from farther away but one does not see anything spawning.

It's kinda silly that I need to get closer to maybe help our INF for the take down and expose myself even more . Not only that but you can't see them but they will see you and have a distance advantage , one can't scan for Tanks and the magic appearing EI cause one can't see them farther out then 700meters.

Id say that you got the upper hand, overlooking a spawn point at > 700m. ATGs will still render as they spawn in, ready to die to your Mg. Just an observation.

Not a question I can answer. It's code change plus a game play decision.

It's 50 /50 at best , see a ET that far out stay far enough out where he doesn't see you and come in from behind , unless he is in the open it's a high chance of the INF going home with a kill.
