231 bug (?) gunner can open non existant hatch for audio improvement

My favorite vehicle has a bug that is useful in very rare situations but I never use it because killing people via use of a bug or cheat just isnt the same, is it bros?

Gunner position, open hatch, no hatch opens that I know of but it gives you ability to hear more clearly.

I havent tested to see if gunner is able to be killed more easily or not after opening this 'hatch'

I think that opens the back louvers.  IIRC when you open them you can hear better, but rifle rounds can now get through.

Been years and years since I tested that.

Edit: Nope, I'm wrong. Those back louvers open from the driver position.

just tried with single account, the hatches dont open but it did seem like the audio may have been coming from rear driver hatch like you mention, will try it later on and update this post

---

edit:

I was thinking of the driver, when they open their hatch it opens the rear driver hatch too. You were probably talkin about the rear of the turret

I took short vid (kinda lags, forgot to reduce quality before recording) first is with gunner closed then infantry pauses for a moment as I open gunner hatch and then the thompson is louder.

if QA goes to test this, the better way would be to use a vehicle, it is more pronounced and easier to tell the audio transition

they dont, just the front driver and rear driver view hatches open when driver presses O. no visual hatches open when gunner opens, audio appears to be coming from front of turret though

It's a remnant from an older model likely. Something just like this existed on the Tiger a while back too.

If you press instrument view (default numpad 0) you'll see the view goes to a section of the mantlet, on a lot of Panzers there is a vision slit which can be opened here and looked through through pressing O then instrument view, also increasing the audio since it is an open hatch. The 232 may have had this at some point in the past, and at least its visual functionality was removed, but this is a remnant of that.
