Thrustmsaster Sidestick Airbus issues...

My friend has that Joy. but only the cloche works and not the keys. He selected 'with joystick'' in the options. Does anyone know why?

Forgive me for sounding like indian tech support by asking these basic questions first:

since you say it works in windows, have you made sure he is trying to assign the buttons to the 2nd and 3rd collumns? The 1st collumn is only for axis inputs (i know you know this but if he is new he may not know)

Has he tried the basics of :

1) clicking 'detect controllers' 

2) plugging it into a different usb port then re-detecting controllers? (i dont think this would be needed since windows already detects it)
