Chokepoint crashes when I start it - any ideas?

I have a fresh install of Chokepoint on a Windows 10 PC, in the last week I have received and activated a key and I have an active subscription to WWIIOL (I actually have three). I have also used the 'verify game' test in Steam. My PC runs WWIIOL fine and has no problems with any other games I have installed.

However when I try to start Chokepoint (using either the Steam 'Play' button or the Windows Chokepoint icon) the game crashes before it starts. It does not present me with any information on why it crashes.

Any ideas?
