For those that have few or no keymap files, nothing for ya here!

I have been looking for quick no fuss method to browse through many cfml keymap files. By that I mean being able to work down a list of cfml files viewing each file without having to open each in a new editor window or tab. And to do so without having to setup file associations or do anything somewhat intrusive, so that it would be easy for anyone to use. Windows Explorer preview, or Powertoys Peek may work but I have been looking for something simpler to use.

So far the best that I have been able to come up with is Notepad2 and its addon Metapath file browse utility. Notepad2 itself is portable, and is also available as a PortableApps.com package. Simple to install, uninstall by deleting its folder, leaves no traces behind.

With Notepad2 running, I clicked on settings, unchecked Single File Instance, within Window Options added a checkmark to Reuse Window, clicked on Save Setting Now, then restarted Notepad2. Opened browse (folder with magnifying glass icon), navigated to the \Documents\WWIIOnline\cfml folder, clicking once on each cfml file displays the file (dont click too fast) without having to close a new window or tab each time.

Cleaned up the look by clicking Scheme, Syntax Scheme, 2nd Text File, checked Set selected scheme as default, unchecked Auto-select by filename extension. Back to Scheme, added checkmark to Use Default Code Style, and under Style Theme selected: Dark. Then Save Settings Now, and restarted.

I'm curious if anyone else has found something similar, or even better.

Its easier to describe with a picture. I'll use this when I need to quickly browse through a number of keymap files.

Note: Notepad4 is just a newer mod of the original Notepad2.

Very nice. I use Notepad++ (free & open source) it has good features like tabs and formatting to make code blocks a bit more legible. I would think that NP++ would have a browser window similar to the one youre using but I havent had the need to look for how to do it. I may look into now since youre image does make it look useful.

Cfml is quite useful and there are small clever things you can do with it to improve QoL. If you find anything neat to use cfml on please feel free to share in the future
