Promoting from captain to major

I noticed that it is 60,000 points to go from captain to major. I swore it used to be a LOT less last time I played. Was that changed from years ago or is it because I am free to play and have a different set of requirements?

It likely has to do with the 1.38.1.0 update (VP Update). The readme shows increased rank thresholds.

Rank is equal for everyone, subscribed or not. But it is going to be hard for the fly boys to get to anything now since they removed the infantry units attatched to the brigades a couple years back. The Navy still holds on to a few selected inf units if you want to level there.
