It just vanished, one minute it was there, the next gone, respawning bought it back. Long grass only, not the trees or bushes.

Is that part of the "clutter" settings? That's supposed to be random, I believe, and only visible to the player in the clutter, it provides no concealment to someone viewing him. (Wondering if its the same thing...)
