Is Chokepoint going to replace WWIIOL?

In other words, is Chokepoint eventually going to take place on a huge map like WWIIOL?   Is Chokepoint WWIIL 2.0?

Please read the webpage, as it clearly states chokepoint is a standalone game with its own wing2 team :

WWII Online: Chokepoint represents the future of WWII Online, in the form of a standalone game. With an all-new team at CRS working on it (known as Wing 2), we've been able to develop new content, assets and IP to support future growth into the Unreal Engine - the destination for WWII Online 2.0. All screenshots shared, are real in-engine shots conducted during playtests.

WWIIOnline 2.0 is part of the original (campaign) project and is going to be a major update of v1.0, with a migration of your existing account and personnas to a newer engine (UE5). There are still lots of parts to be worked on, especially how to auto-generate the large map.

But certain assets, etc that are being made for Chokepoint will be used for WWIIOL (like the infantry models, weapon models, etc).

Some customers may prefer the different, more concentrated gameplay offered by a "shoebox" game like Chokepoint.

Having WWIIOL:Chokepoint and WWIIOL:BE in the same stable, and with their models, environments and other technologies converged over time, will allow CRS to more fully provide gameplay-enjoyment to all their current and potential customers, whatever their preferences, while both games benefit from synergies in the development process and costs.

Not according to this guy’s review…it’s going to be WWIIOL 2.0.  https://www.wwiionline.com/community-notes/reports/100k-views-and-counting

Think of it like this: WWIIOL subscription gets you access to two games. One Post Scriptum style small scale tactical shooter, and the classic grand campaign combined arms WWIIOL we all know. Call one “Chokepoint” and one “WWIIOL 2.0” for now.

Current WWIIOL 1.0 assets are being ported over to UE5 engine to form the basis of WWIIOL 2.0.

Chokepoint is a separate development also being moved to UE5.

Certain new and pretty assets from Chokepoint will be used in WWIIOL 2.0.

(Presumably) In the future any vehicles or assets will be made for both games and used as needed. This way you are developing and updating two games at once to cater to as broad of a playerbase as possible.

At least that is how I understand it! :)
