Great question. Spotter planes have been discussed in the past and it is one of those things that is “on the list” of what would be done in the future. Currently it is not on the roadmap so no active work is being done.

I can say that if you are wanting to do recon work good planes are the ones that can fly slow and are nice and stable. For the Axis the Ju87 is great for its slow flying capability, on the French side the H75 is good as is the Hurricane for the Brits. Downside with all those is if a top level fighter shows up you are in trouble.

But then again so would you be in a spotter plane!

One work around for the spotter planes would be to have them not set off AWS. That might keep the Vultures away ... somewhat.
