Game crashes while loading when the status bar reaches Initializing Vehicle System.

Have followed all install / uninstall procedures multiple times listed here: http://forums.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?t=277106

I can play offline mode 1.30.0.255. I had no problems with 1.29 either.

Doing the following will fix this issue.

Using Add/Remove programs (this is what we mean when we say uninstall which is NOT the same as delete) do the following:- (repeat, we do NOT mean delete when we say uninstall) USE ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

1. Uninstall Battleground Europe Test

2. Uninstall Battleground Europe (this is the live game folder)

3. Uninstall Playgate (just to be on the safe side)

4. DELETE ANY DESKTOP SHORTCUTS YOU PREVIOUSLY USED TO LAUNCH THE GAME

5. Grab (download) the FULL INSTALLER for v1.30 The 3rd (PC) or 4th (MAC) line entry in the list do NOT download Playgate

6. Install the game to the DEFAULT C:\ location on your hard drive (if you use custom install locations you're going to be on your own there)

7. ALWAYS USE:- Start -> *BE icon* "Play Online" link to launch the game, from the Start menu on the bar at the bottom left of your desktop

If you have patch issues after following this proceedure (and most of you won't) there is a full advice page covering all the possible topics so far known here on our support page of our main website, located under "support".

Did that and I still CTD at Initializing Vehicle System. I can play offline. What's the issue here :(

This probably does not have anything to do with uninstalling/installing repeatedly. The exe used is not SSE2, because his processor does not support it. The exe used is ww2_x86, as shown in the log. I went through the libraries and no SSE2 is used by accident for the ww2_x86.exe

What OS is this problem on? I see AMD for one. Any others? What video card? Any beta testers here having this problem?

Doc has an older AMD at home and will test this by installing the full version and report back in the morning on what he has found.

I haven't upgraded my Vid card drivers so that's not an issue.

Maybe try upgrading them to 9.4 then.

If driver's are an issue then why can I play offline ?

I did everything Doc said, no worky. It crashes at Initializing Vehicle System. I even downloaded new Nvidia drivers and the same result. I have an older system that worked great with 1.29 but not now! I hope someone solves this since I would hate to unsub. I'm a B1 player and love the game BUT!

The specific instruction referenced by the crash log, PUNPCKLQDQ is a SSE2 only instruction. It's the same one that was causing issues with PlayGATE during open beta.

Havin same problems. Did as DOC posted and nada.

There's nothing you can do ATM, you're going to have to wait for 1.30.1

I appreciate the feedback. It seems no amount of tweaking, poking or prodding will make this release run on my machine. I guess that's the drawback of having a dated processor.

I'm disappointed, since I really wanted to get in there and test out the new version. I guess I will have to wait for the RATS to figure out if and/or how an SSE2 instruction made its way into the x86 exe, or if there is some other issue at play here.

I know you guys have "alot of fish to fry" at the moment, but I really hope you can squash this problem sooner rather than later.

Anyway, the machine in question is athlon XP 2500+ 1.8ghz, nvidia 6200gt, 1.5g ram, XP Pro.

Drivers, patches, DX9 all up to date.

Just to clarify, CAN play offline just fine, just cannot play online and always generate the same exception logs. (And Doc, I know you were probably in a hurry and trying to be helpful, but I linked to the very advice you posted in my opening post. Thanks anyway!)

So far, everyone who has reported this very specific problem that has also reported their processor type as Athlon XP.

Doc says it works fine on an Athlon 64. The 64 chip supports SSE2 (and SSE3, and a whole host of instructions not supported by the XP series.)

Martini says he is not seeing SSE2 instructions in the x86.exe. Yet the stack dump seems to show otherwise. (I'll have to take x15's word on that.)

Does CRS have access to an Athlon XP chip? I believe you could reproduce this bug for yourself if you did.

All the people with this bug report they can play offline, but not online. What is the client doing different instruction-wise when it is online rather than offline when it is about to try to render the lobby screen?

DOC should be in shortly and he has an older AMD at home. He is going to let me know what he found. I'm going through the libraries again to see if there are any with SSE2 instructions. The big confusion here is that most of you are able to play offline.
