I am also down to 5fps in anything more than strolling through town. My specs are:

P4 3.0 HT, 2 GB RAM, nVidia 512MB, cable internet good connection speed. I just had joined about two months ago, and didn't have any problems, was at 40 fps, 20 in heated battle. I use my binoculars, and it dips to 5fps. I can't run to engage anymore, its too jumpy, and I get one brief glimpse of someone....right before they smile and send me spawning. Playing at lower resolution (I can hardly read the font.) I don't believe this is a user problem, I am reading a lot here that game was fine before patch, now slow. I am in the same boat, specs didn't change. Just an observation..

Here's an update to my issues of FPS from Hell:

I repeated my un-installation of my ATI drivers. All the way down to cleaning the registry by finding anything that said ATI. That means also the CCC.

From there I took a step back to drivers from 2007 and install 6.13. By some odd reason they've worked. I've jumped right in and turned everything up from the ATI divers, screen resolution, and right down to WWII settings (except radial clutter). Now my performance is better that 1.29 with the lastest drivers.

Currently my FPS doesn't fall below 20 and I have even have my visible limit maxed. It's just wierd that I'd have to roll back drivers that are 2 years old to play. Who would have thought?

Well then I wouldn't change a thing!
