      New Community Volunteer Opportunity   04/29/2017

With the looming Steam release, we are anticipating many new players to the game. This is great for all of us, and it's important that we retain as many as we can. With that in mind, we'd like to enlist players to help with the inevitable questions asked in the forums. Ideally, gameplay questions are asked and answered in-game, but it's not always easy or convenient to answer questions while playing. A Gameplay Support Forum would be a good place for those who want to help. We are now accepting volunteers for the Rat Patrol, who will provide correct and consistent info to new players in the Forums. The more new players we retain, the better it is for the game and the biggest hurdle in player retention is grasping the complexities of this game. If you are interested, send me a PM.

Squad Leaders Contact GVONPAUL OR Dodger for Squad Forums   05/18/2017

      Soldiers!

We are seeking Squad Leaders to volunteer their squads to help us test the upcoming Squad Forums system. This system will integrate squads who wish to participate into a self-sustained "forum within a forum." You will be able to add members to your squad, assign permissions, and create forums/calendar events on your own. The idea behind this system is part of our commitment to support squads as a integral part of our community. This service will be offered free of charge to all squads of World War II Online upon launch. Our goal is to offer all of the services a squad off-site forum can offer but free of charge and tied in to our existing forum service. So what do you need tested? We need willing volunteers to test the whole system - make forums, post threads, assign permissions, etc. The idea is to have several squads giving it a test run to point out any flaws before we launch it publicly. What are the requirements? We are ideally looking for medium to large squads - Ideally ten people or so plus, but smaller squads feel free to apply - and a willingness to use our platform. It's important to note (as of now - these may be included at a later date) we are unable to convert posts from a private forum if your squad previously used one, and you (or your XO's and recruiters) will need to assign individual members permissions. It is entirely possible that in the future this system will be automatically linked to the game's squad roster, but as of now developer priorities are elsewhere (1.37 and steam, w00t!) How do I sign up? PM me ( @Dodger ) on the forums, or email me at dodger@playnet.com - Please indicate your squad name and how many members you have. I will get back to you with more instructions.

    • Adding AOs may not have been the direct cause for large squads decreasing in numbers.  I don't think people can make such a conclusion. There are other explanations for population decrease as well:  for example this is a very OLD game - 17 years.  People don't play the same game forever - they move on in life. The decrease in population may have absolutely nothing to do with AOs or other gameplay changes.   It may just be the result of the fact that the game is OLD with old graphics. To be honest its amazing that this game has survived as long as it has.  And this game's remarkable longevity might be the result of the game actually having GOOD gameplay mechanics.
    • would it? Game worked before without it. All I know AOs came a huge squad dissapeared. The leader stooped logging in and slowly the squad went the way of the dodo bird. I'm not saying accommodate one squad. But CRS needs to find a happy medium. SG even had a counter squad on the Allied side , that SG actually hid their stats so the other side did not always know where SG operated in. I believe it was the 23rd Mech . And to be all honest I haven't seen Armor column in game anymore like they used to roll either.   AOs were implemented to get the shrinking player base onto a commen battlefield and not have the player base all scattered around the map which I completely understand. But certain players did like that freedom of not having to adhere to an HC hirachy , and I'm sure the Allied side had these players too.   Sad fact is these players are gone now and most likely will never come back. Nothing Xoom or the group that runs CRS has done ,but the former team is to blame . XOOM is just picking up the pieces and trying to fit it all together again in the hopes that old players give it another try and will like it again.  But I think ( my opinion) is that the former CRS have done a lot of damage and a shattered reputation is hard to build up again.
    • Thanks - wish we could have turned the tide!    New campaign tomorrow!!!!
    • This is a great idea!  Let me know if I can help in any way
    • <S> Allies, I'm setting up a school for new players ingame. If u guys have new recruits in your sqaud or know new recruits? Don't have the time to explain whats happening around them? No Worries, Im glad to get our new players 'uptodate' What i can offer: * Advanced Combat-Communications training * * Basic to Advanced Attack/Deffend Operations Training. * * Army and Navy unit training! * (No flying skills) * Engineering tips * I'm working on a fixed school day in the week ( thinking of thursday or saturday) I am calling out the training ingame, but you can also send me a pm.  P.S I maybe dont have the right awnsers away, but i know allot of good players who are willing to help me out. Thanks for your understanding. Ltsolina out <S>
    •   Yes it was. But i can understand the reasoning behind trying to "sell" the game as well. I guess it's just one of those things to get used too . I do not have any suggestions at this time though, but  I'll let you know if I do  .
    • Are you sure there wasn't known problems with the servers when you tried to get in? Have you checked your firewall settings? Are you getting any errors? Regarding dxdiag, you should be able to save the information file to your desired location, e.g desktop.
