Last few nights Ive been getting a black screen then booted back to desktop w/ no messages or anything in WW2 error logs.

It happens after any amount of time ingame.Usually more than 20 minutes though**

Initially the game would take a long time to load, I'd try to ctl-alt-del to task manager and it would semi freeze then task manager would be blacked out.

After a few seconds of trying to drag the task manager I would sometimes get the multiple(like 50 instances of it running)screen and it would trail all ove saying WWII is not responding.

Id then close Task Manager and it would freeze and then get me in game.

I checked my compatibility settings and they were set for Windows NT.

I unchecked run in compatibility mode &

now the game loads fine but I continue to get CTD w/o any warning.

Just black screen and back to desktop.

I ran a memtest and I had no errors after several hours.

My CPU and GPU temps are fine.

Im the only one that uses this PC and this is the only game I play on it.

Im uninstalling the game, deleting all associated Battleground/playgate/playnet files, deleting registry entries and downloading fresh.

Im going to reinstall and see if it continues.

If it continues to CTD, Im using Nvidia drivers from April of 2009 so I'll update to the latest.

UPDATE*****

Seems like a total uninstall and deletion of everything Battleground Europe + a fresh install stopped my CTD.

Played for over an hour and a half tonight.

Follow the directions on the Wiki for a total uninstall, might help

I'm CTDing much more often since 1.31.2. Used to maybe CTD once every couple of days, have CTD five times so far today.

Don't know if these are still sent auto or not, but all the CTD I have had today are same error/exception.

Latest patch has changed nothing for me. Game is unplayable with so many CTDs on spawn and death.

These various memory crashes were not expected to be fixed this patch.

Have you tried playing with the low memory option enabled?

I'll give the low memory an option another try when the new campaign starts and see if it reduces my crashing.

Tested this one. so everytime i get shot down and crash, and then i despawn/ respawn game crashes. 5 staright times, if i crash it doesn't happen only when i get shot down as a plane, crash and despawn then try to respawn

Running in low memory mode did not change anything. Still crashed after extended play.

I crash infrequently as infantry and trucks, but very frequently after dying in planes.

The only possible difference with my system I can think of is maybe because I run creative alchemy to restore my soundcard functionality that it might respond differently. I'll try running without it.

Or maybe my firewall/antivirus?

Still have my CTDs every 2-4 sorties. As i cant really leave game due to squad and ASA responsibility and joy, new system should land tommorow. Bill on that one is in the mail to CRS today.

I have 4 gig. It isnt memory. It isn't the vid card. It isn't the wrong sound card in settings.exe It's the spawn system and timers. It happens often, and it happens to a lot of people.

hope this helps.

I don't know if this is related, or not.

I am getting what appear to be random CTD ... no particular event seems to make it occur ... I sort of thought it was to do with sounds ... Although it is my NVIDIA gfx cards that report the problem when the game CTDs (error in gfx driver).

However, I have looked around for crash logs and can find none ... except:

dsoundlog.txt (created 12/08 ... 00:57, exactly when my last crash occurred):

Logging Time : 12/8/2010 at 0:57:04

Loaded C:\PROGRA~2\CRS\BATTLE~1\DSOUND.ini

Using Native OpenAL Renderer

DirectSoundBuffer[736]::ServiceStream ERROR at 278065 : alSourceStop set error 40964 (all buffers were processed)

DirectSoundBuffer[736]::ServiceStream ERROR at 367255 : alSourceStop set error 40964 (all buffers were processed)

DirectSoundBuffer[1810]::ServiceStream ERROR at 460240 : alSourceStop set error 40964 (all buffers were processed)

DirectSoundBuffer[1810]::ServiceStream ERROR at 485155 : alSourceStop set error 40964 (all buffers were processed)

DirectSoundBuffer[13676]::ServiceStream ERROR at 1933590 : alSourceStop set error 40964 (all buffers were processed)

Is this related (no, I don't see how it could be - but this is the only log produced)

(I am going to try low-memory mode tonight ... Even though I have 4GB)
