Feedback - CTD on spawn #4248

Recommended Posts

I am getting CTD on respawn it seems related to spawn delay, there was spawn delay last nite and I eventually gave up playing as almost every time I tried to spawn on a second sortie I got a ctd. Is a right royal pain in the ***.

Machine set up is

Core 2 duo 3gHz

3Gb Memory

Nvidia GT165

Windows XP

The only thing on this machine is XP,Teamspeak,Firefox browser and the Game, nothing else not even Flash player,

Whilst I am on the subject of pains in the ***, why o why can I not set my password to be remebered, and why o why can I not set the credits not to be shown.

I got about 12 ctd events last nite, and to say I was angry to have to keep typing my password in and clicking to get rid of the credits is an understatment.:mad::mad:

Thats 24 logins as I am sure u know the 1st login after a ctd I get the red padlock thing, so I have to log out and then back in again.

A week ago everything worked fine on my laptop.

Went on holiday, downloaded the new patch today and I get ctd's on spawn.

Acer Aspire 4810TZG

intel SU4100

Ati HD 4330

4gb ram

I know specs aren't good since its a laptop but everything worked fine before the patch. Decent FPS too, didn't get bothered by it at all.

This problem started just today; everytime I spawn at any airfield in any aircraft or as a PARA, I immediately CTD!? I had at least 6 CTDs today and have never had this much problem before. I've been playing almost daily without this issue on my new Win7 PC without any issues since February.

Win7

3.07GHz quad core

12 GB RAM

64-bit OS

GeForce GTX 275

Today I was able to spawn in at some spots but i would have an extreme low FPS. When i would turn my view too much i would CTD.

Checked process manager and it said BE was pulling 1.200.000 memory while if i remember correctly it would be much less before the last patch.

Edit: It seems, at least right now, that it is only occurring in Lueven. I can spawn elsewhere, or at least got two spawns in. I tried to spawn in Lueven and immediately CTDd and thats where all other instances tonight have been so far.

Edit2: Uninstall/reboot/reinstall did not help

I am now experiencing a ctd on almost every spawn.

Not with the given information I'm afraid.

I need a sys spec on everyone reporting this. Also need to know things like how long playing, where, changing places, personas, etc.

We've got some new concussion bug fixes in test and if those pan out we'll start on this one.

Today I have CTD 3 times, in 3 different locations. Set up an allied MSP to blow up an axis fb, deploy, despawn and CTD

At this point the fixes we have are going live but I don;t know if they help. This should be easy to replicate for you that get it yes?

Guess we'll just have to see after 1.32 goes live. No reports will tell me this is fixed.

I've got a potential enter world CTD - it happens infrequently enough in my case that I havent' bothered reporting it. It's been happening since 1.31 and occurred last night with 1.32.4.

The only clue I have so far is that it occurs for me when switching between personas - from army to air and other direction as well. Last night it took almost 5 hours for it to happen, but other times I've had it happen my 2nd spawn after logging in. Last night, I ended an air mission with a RES, and tried to switch to ground. Found an existing mission, selected weapon and clicked enter world - game chugged for a bit and then dumped me to desktop.

I can post a new thread later if this is worth pursuing.

I don't believe those are related Rubbish.

This crash is specifically that you crash on spawn after spawning several different places or after switching personas.

That is the bug exactly. TY. Can you post or email me your wwiiollog.txt file next time this happens?

The reason I posted them here is that all three problems (ctd spawn, ctd despawn, ctd screenshot) all reference the same memory location in the crash report.

see here:

http://forums.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?t=343192

and here:

http://forums.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?t=342868

I don't know enough to know if that is relevant but it is a pattern at least.
